Woodlands Guesthouse Access Statement

The North Devon coastline is beautiful and very rugged and the area in which Lynton and Lynmouth is located is especially hilly, hence it's Victorian name of “Little Switzerland”.

It is a wonderful place to spend a holiday yet for those suffering from cardiac and or respiratory issues, the general topography may prove challenging.

Woodlands Guesthouse - Approach to the house from outside.

Our beautiful house is located on the side of a hill overlooking the West Lyn River valley.

Access to the front and rear entrances of the house can be made only on foot.

Our driveway is not long but nevertheless steep and thus challenging to some.

Access to the front door is via Lynbridge Road, whilst access from the rear is via a footpath called

The Lynway, which links Lynbridge with Lynton.

We are regretfully unable to accommodate visitor parking on our driveway but our car park, located opposite the house has room for up to seven cars.

Woodlands was originally built as a private house and does not have an elevator.

Access to the first and second floor bedrooms is by an impressive Victorian staircase.

The ground floor of the House is all on one level.

Access to the rear entrance to the house is made from the second floor landing and via a metal staircase connecting the house to The Lynway footpath and pedestrian access to Lynton (ten minutes) and Lynbridge and The Cottage Inn (five minutes).
